AR TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATION TO MOTIVATE FOR LEARNING
AR advantages for education
The article considers the construction of the educational process applying augmented reality technology. The design and development of lessons based on AR applications and the appropriate software need instructional specialists of general education institutions with specific skills. The author suggests a training program to form or improve competence in augmented reality technology used in professional activities. The program will help specialists learn the basic concepts of the technology area, study the history and opportunities for developing the technology, identify threats and risks that users may face when using AR technology, as well as study software and hardware for developing and immersing themselves in augmented reality technology.

Over the last few years, there has been a growing interest in augmented reality (AR) technology for education. However, current AR education applications are often used as a new type of knowledge display platform, and they cannot fully participate in educational activities to improve educational results. To enable AR technology to participate in educational activities more effectively, according to learning-by-doing theory, we explore the form of a future experimental course

AR Enabled System for Cultural Heritage Monitoring and Preservation
AR and Heritage preservation
In this work, an end to end system structure is introduced for preventive conservation of museums based on the IoT. The system enables to monitor and indicate any climatic effects, and points for necessary maintenance. Moreover, the system employs the AR to help museums visitors to get much experience. An application interface is developed for both museum administrators and visitors to enable them to extract the associated data.

Preservation of Intangible Cultural Heritage Using Advance Digital Technology: Issues and Challenges
AR and Heritage preservation
The emerging concern on intangible heritage in the international arena reflects the fear of cultural homogeneity, diminishing cultural diversity and human creativity. Cultural heritage is a symbol spiritual and intellectual wealth of a civilization, while intangible cultural heritage is associated to tradition and living expressions. There is a need to preserve these fragile assets so they would someday be oblivious in the modern world. Ironically, the potential strategy in preserving the intangible cultural heritage lies in the current advanced digital technology. This paper highlights major issues and challenges in the intangible cultural heritage preservation through technology, with regards to the content and the purpose associated to it.

Management of immersive heritage tourism experiences: A conceptual model
AR and Tourism
There is potential for immersive technology, such as augmented and virtual reality, to create memorable tourism experiences, specifically for heritage tourism. However, there is a lack of conceptual clarity surrounding the management of heritage for memorable tourism experiences. Subsequently, this research note proposes a four-stage conceptual model of heritage preservation for managing heritage into digital tourism experiences. The four stages include the presentation of historical facts; contested heritage; integration of historical facts and contested heritage; and/or an alternate scenario. This research note demonstrates that integrating history with cutting-edge technology in immersive environments has the potential to not only preserve and manage heritage but to enrich the visitor experience and subsequent engagement with history.
Mobile augmented reality applications for heritage preservation in UNESCO world heritage sites through adopting the UTAUT model
AR and Tourism
Augmented reality (AR) technology has undergone enormous advancement and now AR applications can be seamlessly executed using modern-day smartphones. This study aims to develop a mobile AR application which consists of 3D AR models of historical monuments located within the UNESCO World Heritage Site in Melaka. The application allows tourists to obtain information of the monuments from the AR models, which provide an alternative way of visiting the actual monuments to prevent overcrowding effect and promote heritage preservation. Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEU), Facilitating Conditions (FC), and Perceived Playfulness (PP) are proposed as the determinants of user’s Behavioural Intention to Use (BI) the application. Using 50 tourists in Melaka as respondents, a pilot study has been conducted to determine user’s acceptance of the AR mobile application
Innovative methods for heritage tourism experiences: creating windows into the past
Modern tourism
Heritage tourism products and experiences can generate substantial economic and social contribution to local communities. Yet, significant challenges face heritage tourism destinations, including heritage preservation and the subsequent transition into viable tourism experiences. This paper aims to employ innovative heritage preservation methods that can be utilised to develop tourism experiences at heritage sites. This research details how cutting-edge 3D scanning and modelling can be used to assist with the virtual presentation of heritage. Using a case study of a WWII US Airforce base in Charleville, Australia, this paper will detail how new 3D scanning methods can assist with the accuracy of digital preservation, as well as assist in the delivery of memorable tourism experiences by connecting and expanding to conceptually related areas, such as serious gaming. Findings revealed that by implementing 3D multi-layered scanning a simulation of an WWII Hanger and Norden bombsight was created, with scanning completed to within two millimetres of accuracy. A key contribution of this research is to provide lessons learned for scholars and practitioners considering the application of advanced methods for heritage preservation and memorable tourism experiences. In turn, this can be used as a key economic driver as well as instil social pride, especially for regional communities.
